Admatis

ADMATIS (the name stands for "Advanced Materials In Space") is a Hungarian space engineering company based in Miskolc, founded in 2000. It specializes in thermal and structural hardware for spacecraft, including multi-layer insulation, radiators, thermal-control systems, mechanical structures and ground-support equipment, backed by in-house material-science, structural-analysis, manufacturing and environmental-test capabilities.

Its hardware has flown on multiple European Space Agency missions: the company supplied thermal and structural components for ESA's JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer) mission, which launched in 2023, for the CHEOPS exoplanet telescope, and for the Sentinel-2 and Meteosat Third Generation Earth-observation satellites; as of 2026 it was testing a third flight model of Meteosat Third Generation hardware. ADMATIS also contributed equipment to the POSITIVE project, an ISS-bound payload, and works as a subcontractor to prime contractors including Airbus, Thales and OHB, alongside direct collaboration with ESA and NASA.

The company is privately held, majority-owned (63.5%) by the Bárczy family with the remainder held by other Hungarian private individuals, and has received Hungarian national GINOP grant funding for thermal-services and aerogel-insulation development work. ADMATIS is Hungary's most established space-hardware manufacturer, supplying flight components into ESA's science and Earth-observation programs rather than building complete spacecraft of its own.
