Airbus Intelligence is the satellite imagery and Earth observation data business of Airbus Defence and Space, operating one of the highest-resolution commercial optical constellations in the world from its headquarters in Toulouse, France. The division's Pléiades Neo constellation — four satellites launched between 2021 and 2022 — delivers native 30cm panchromatic resolution across a 14km swath with a twice-daily global revisit frequency, placing it among the sharpest commercially available imagery sources alongside Maxar's WorldView Legion.

The legacy SPOT 6 and SPOT 7 satellites, still operational at 1.5m panchromatic/6m multispectral resolution, provide complementary wide-area coverage at 60km swath. Airbus also markets the HD15 product line — a 15cm-class enhanced resolution derived from Pléiades Neo acquisitions through super-resolution processing — competing directly with Maxar's 30cm WorldView-3 and the sub-30cm constellation ambitions of BlackSky and Satellogic.

The European Data Relay System (EDRS) is a critical differentiator: geostationary laser relay satellites operating at 1.8 Gbit/s enable near-real-time downlink of Pléiades Neo imagery without waiting for ground station passes, compressing time-from-capture-to-delivery to under an hour. This architecture underpins emergency response, maritime domain awareness, and military intelligence-grade timeliness.

Data access is unified through the One.Atlas platform, providing API-based ordering, archive search across all sensors, and analytics-ready delivery formats for GIS integration. Airbus Intelligence holds long-term defense contracts with the French Ministry of Defence (the ORFEO program), NATO, and numerous European national mapping agencies. Competitors include Maxar Technologies (WorldView Legion), Planet Labs (SkySat/Dove dual-use), BlackSky, and ICEYE for SAR tasking.
