ArkEdge Space is a Tokyo-based company that develops, manufactures and operates CubeSats and microsatellites, offering solutions from design to mass production and operation of micro-satellite constellations. It is building a constellation of VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) satellites for global maritime communications, launching its first VDES satellites in 2025. JAXA selected ArkEdge to study a LEO Positioning, Navigation and Timing constellation and to develop a lunar navigation system. It partnered with SKY Perfect JSAT to accelerate commercialization of micro-satellite constellations, and raised roughly 8 billion yen in a 2025 Series B round.
