About Beihang University
Beihang University (北京航空航天大学, BUAA) is China's premier aerospace and aviation university, founded in 1952 in Beijing. Known as "the cradle of Chinese aerospace," Beihang has trained generations of China's space and aviation engineers and scientists, including contributors to the Shenzhou crewed spacecraft, Chang'e lunar probes, and COMAC commercial aircraft programs. The university's research spans satellite design, spacecraft propulsion, materials science, autonomous systems, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Beihang operates close ties with CNSA, CASC, and the PLAAF (People's Liberation Army Air Force), receiving substantial state R&D funding.
