BlackWave is a Tel Aviv-based antenna technology company founded in 2019 that develops advanced phased array and metamaterial-based antenna systems for satellite communication terminals — targeting the rapidly growing market for low-profile, electronically steered LEO constellation ground terminals for maritime, automotive, aeronautical, and fixed broadband applications.

Conventional satellite dish antennas rely on mechanical actuators to point at satellites — bulky, failure-prone, and aerodynamically incompatible with mobile platforms. Phased array antennas replace mechanical steering with electronic beam forming: an array of radiating elements whose signals are combined with precisely controlled phase delays, producing a steerable beam with no moving parts. This enables flat, conformal panels compatible with ship superstructures, aircraft fuselages, and vehicle rooftops.
