Bright Ascension, headquartered in Dundee, Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Bristol, is a UK-based space software company founded in 2011 that develops flight software, mission control systems, and simulation tools for small satellites and cubesats — providing the software infrastructure that enables satellite operators to command and control spacecraft, manage payloads, process telemetry, and simulate mission scenarios.

Bright Ascension's flagship product is GenerationOne — a flight software framework for small satellite onboard computers (OBCs) that provides a modular, configurable platform managing the spacecraft's operating modes, power management, attitude determination and control (ADCS) interfaces, communications scheduling, payload control, and fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR).

The HELIX Groundkit is Bright Ascension's ground segment solution — a mission control software package providing satellite operators with pass scheduling, command uplink management, telemetry ingestion and visualization, housekeeping data trending, and ground antenna control system integration in a unified platform. HELIX is designed for small satellite operators without dedicated ground segment engineering teams who need a functional, professional-grade mission control system deployable rapidly.
