CAES

CAES (Cobham Advanced Electronic Systems) is a major US supplier of radiation-hardened electronics for space and defense applications, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. The company was formed from Cobham's electronic systems division and produces radiation-hardened ASICs, processors, FPGAs, data converters, power management ICs, and RF/microwave components for satellite, missile, and military systems requiring operation in high-radiation environments. CAES supplies electronics for government programs including GPS satellites, military communications satellites, and intelligence spacecraft, as well as commercial GEO and LEO operators. The company was acquired by Honeywell, adding space-grade electronics to Honeywell's aerospace and defense portfolio. CAES competes with BAE Systems Electronic Systems, Microchip (Microsemi), and Renesas in the radiation-hardened semiconductor market.
