About Commcrete

Updated 2026-09-11

Commcrete is an Israeli tactical satellite-communications company, founded in 2022 and based in Shoham, that builds compact satcom devices for defense, security and emergency-response customers. Its product line includes Flipper, a converter that turns existing military-grade radios or walkie-talkies into satellite-connected devices; Stardust, an all-in-one multi-channel L-band satcom communicator supporting voice, text, file transfer, location tracking and distress signalling through a proprietary chipset; and Bittel, which extends satcom capability to vehicles and other platforms.

The company says its products are designed to maintain continuous voice and data links without large antennas or a clear view of the sky, a feature aimed at dismounted or vehicle-mounted tactical users rather than fixed ground terminals.

Commcrete has raised roughly $29 million in total funding, including a seed round backed by Mobileye co-founder Prof. Amnon Shashua, Q Fund and private angel investors, and a $21 million Series A led by Greenfield Partners with participation from Redseed Ventures, announced in September 2025. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Itzik Daniel Michaeli, whose team includes veterans of Israeli defense-technology units.

As of its Series A announcement, Commcrete said its products were in use across 28 countries, primarily by defense, security and emergency-services organizations, giving the company an operational customer base rather than products still confined to pilot or demonstration use. The company maintains a secondary office in Bethesda, Maryland, in addition to its Israeli headquarters.
