CS GROUP (Communication & Systèmes) is a French defense and aerospace software company founded in 1968 and headquartered in Paris, best known as the developer of Orekit — the world's most widely used open-source space flight dynamics library — and the OreFLIDS commercial flight dynamics system used by ESA and national space agency mission operations programs. CS GROUP was acquired by Sopra Steria, a major French IT services group.

Orekit is an open-source Java library providing fundamental space mechanics algorithms: orbit propagation (using SGP4, Eckstein-Hechler, and numerical integration methods), coordinate reference frame transformations, attitude computation, maneuver modeling, and ground contact prediction. Distributed under the Apache License, Orekit has become the de facto standard open-source flight dynamics foundation adopted by ESA, CNES, DLR, and hundreds of space companies worldwide — providing validated, peer-reviewed space mathematics without the liability of unverified proprietary implementations. The Orekit Foundation was established to govern the library's ongoing development by an open community of contributors.

CS GROUP's OreFLIDS commercial flight dynamics system builds on Orekit to provide complete operational flight dynamics capability for satellite mission control. Key missions supported include NEOSAT (ESA/Eutelsat/SES next-generation GEO satellite platform), EGNOS V3 (Europe's GPS augmentation system), and EUMETSAT meteorological satellite operations. The company's 40+ year flight dynamics heritage provides institutional knowledge of edge cases in orbit propagation and maneuver planning that newer entrants lack.

CS GROUP competes with a.i. solutions (FreeFlyer/Meridian), GMV (HIFLY/FDS Suite), and Kratos Defense for satellite flight dynamics software and operations support contracts.
