DeltaV Space Technologies is a Turkish aerospace company specializing in hybrid rocket propulsion systems, celebrated for achieving the world's first successful ignition of a hybrid rocket motor as a second stage engine in space — a significant milestone in hybrid propulsion maturity that demonstrated this technology class can reliably ignite in the vacuum and thermal conditions of space, not just at sea level.

Hybrid rockets use a solid fuel grain (typically HTPB or paraffin wax) combined with a liquid or gaseous oxidizer (typically liquid oxygen, nitrous oxide, or hydrogen peroxide), offering safety advantages over solid rockets (inert fuel without oxidizer) and simplicity advantages over liquid rockets (no cryogenic fuel handling for some propellant combinations). Achieving hybrid ignition in space — in near-vacuum at the thermal extremes between Sun and shadow — validates hybrid propulsion for upper stage applications where these conditions are encountered.
