Emulate has flown several of its chip platforms to the International Space Station National Laboratory to study how microgravity affects human physiology in ways that are difficult to replicate on Earth, using Zin Technologies as its implementation partner and Space Tango as commercial service provider, with funding support from NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB).

A Blood-Brain-Barrier Chip investigation launched on SpaceX's CRS-17 mission in April 2019; an Organ-Chips platform investigation flew on CRS-20 in February 2020; and a Brain-Chip study examining the effects of genetic disease launched on CRS-24 in December 2021. The company's ISS work contributed to a patent filed in its 2021 fiscal year for intestinal tissue-chip technology developed to model human enteric physiology, including interactions with the gut microbiome and sensory neurons.
