Eutelsat

Eutelsat (Euronext Paris: ETL) is a leading French satellite operator founded as an intergovernmental organization in 1977 and privatized in 2001. The company completed a merger with OneWeb in 2023, creating Eutelsat Group — a combined GEO and LEO operator with 36 geostationary satellites plus the 648-satellite OneWeb LEO broadband constellation. The merger positions Eutelsat as the third-largest satellite operator by revenue globally, after SES and Intelsat (now SES-owned). Eutelsat's GEO fleet provides video broadcasting services to broadcasters across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (including nearly 7,000 TV channels), plus government and enterprise broadband. The OneWeb LEO constellation targets enterprise, government, and aviation connectivity with fiber-like latency. Following the merger, Eutelsat faces the execution challenge of integrating two very different businesses while managing heavy debt from the OneWeb acquisition.
