About Farcast

Updated 2026-06-30

Farcast develops flat panel satellite user terminals built around proprietary active electronically scanned antenna technology, engineered for size, weight, power and cost efficiency. Its distinguishing claim is an aperture that transmits and receives simultaneously from the same panel, with electronic beam steering that tracks moving satellites and moving users without mechanical parts.

The company was founded in 2019 and is based in San Francisco. Its terminals target the enterprise and mobility markets served by non-geostationary constellations, where terminal cost and availability — rather than space segment capacity — have become the practical constraint on subscriber growth.

In November 2025 Telesat made a $5 million equity investment in Farcast and took a board seat, under an agreement for Farcast to deliver an enterprise-class flat panel user terminal fully integrated with the Telesat Lightspeed modem and ready for volume production. Via Satellite named it one of its ten hottest satellite companies for 2026.
