Firefly Defense

Firefly Defense is the defense-focused division of Firefly Aerospace, a U.S.-based space company founded in 2023, providing launch and space services. Firefly Aerospace offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities encompassing launch, lunar landing, and in-space operations. The company is currently scaling production of its Alpha rocket, a fully operational launch vehicle in the 1,000-kilogram class, and is developing the larger, reusable Eclipse rocket in partnership with Northrop Grumman, targeting a 16,000-kilogram payload capacity.

A key achievement for Firefly is becoming the first commercial company to successfully land on the Moon with its Blue Ghost lunar lander. Firefly is planning multiple annual missions to the Moon utilizing Blue Ghost, offering payload delivery, lunar surface operations support, and sample return capabilities. Additionally, the company’s Elytra spacecraft provides in-space maneuverability and services, including on-demand payload delivery, imaging, and communications across cislunar space.

Firefly Aerospace currently serves a diverse customer base including Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Space Force, and NASA, demonstrating its growing role within the defense and space sectors.
