About Frentech Aerospace

Frentech Aerospace is a Czech precision-machining and mechanism manufacturer based in Brno, founded in 1994, with more than a decade of that history in the space sector on top of over twenty years in aviation manufacturing. The company machines components in stainless steel, aluminium alloys and titanium and has delivered more than 2.5 million parts across aviation, space and defence programs, holding ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9100 certification.

Its space-sector work includes manufacturing the HEPA filter flight models used on the ESA/Roscosmos ExoMars 2020 Mars mission, produced in collaboration with Thales Alenia Space France on the mission's descent canister and associated mechanisms; cryostat structures for the Meteosat Third Generation weather satellites; and gold-plated mirror sets for the European Southern Observatory's ALMA radio-telescope array. For ESA's JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer) mission, launched in 2023, Frentech acted as prime contractor for a deployment-boom mechanism developed under a Czech national space-industry initiative.

On the commercial side, the company manufactures and tests several hundred solar-panel deployment mechanisms for Iridium NEXT communications satellites under a US contract, and it has separately built a test module intended for a future Phobos sample-return mission. Frentech is privately held and generates revenue from contract manufacturing for prime contractors such as Thales Alenia Space rather than from spacecraft products of its own, making it a specialised subcontractor within the European space supply chain.
