About GalaxEye Space

GalaxEye Space is a Bangalore-based Earth-observation satellite startup founded in 2021 by Suyash Singh, Denil Chawda, Kishan Thakkar, and Pranit Mehta — originally as a student team at IIT Madras. The company is developing a commercial satellite constellation that fuses synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and multispectral optical imaging on a single small-satellite platform, aiming to deliver all-weather, day-night Earth imagery without the latency of separately tasking two different satellite types.

GalaxEye's first demonstrator satellite, Drishti Mission, is targeted for launch in the mid-2020s, with the company having announced multiple pre-launch customer agreements and contracts with Indian defense and agricultural-intelligence customers. Funding rounds have come from investors including Mela Ventures, Speciale Invest, Indian Angel Network, and Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan.

The company is part of a cohort of Indian private-sector space startups — alongside Pixxel, Dhruva Space, Satellogic partners, and others — that have emerged rapidly following India's 2020 space-policy reforms authorizing private satellite operations. GalaxEye's multi-sensor architecture is distinctive in a market otherwise dominated by single-modality operators.
