Hongqing Technology

Hongqing Technology (鸿擎科技), legally Beijing Blue Arrow Hongqing Technology Co., Ltd. (北京蓝箭鸿擎科技有限公司), is a Chinese satellite-constellation company that began independent operations in December 2021 as an affiliate of Chinese commercial launch company LandSpace (also known as Blue Arrow Aerospace, 蓝箭航天), one of China's most established private orbital launch providers. The company is headquartered in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Daxing district) and is led by founder and CEO Wan Jun.

Hongqing describes itself as China's only satellite-constellation solution provider offering integrated, end-to-end rocket-and-satellite collaborative capability — leveraging its relationship with LandSpace to combine satellite design, manufacturing and on-orbit delivery with dedicated launch services, rather than operating purely as a satellite builder reliant on third-party launch providers. Its planned constellation spans three satellite types: high-throughput communication satellites, high-resolution intelligent remote-sensing satellites, and open-payload scientific experiment satellites offered for global research collaboration under a program the company calls the "Olive Leaf Plan."

The company has developed proprietary satellite subsystems in-house, including the "Jinwu" (金乌) electric propulsion system — which it reports has completed more than 4,089 in-orbit ignition tests with a 100% success rate — along with the "Chiyu" (赤羽) power system and "Baize" (白泽) electronic/avionics system. As of the latest available information, Hongqing had not publicly documented specific satellites launched into its planned constellation, indicating the company remains in a pre-deployment development phase for its constellation business even as its subsystem technologies have been flight-tested.
