Innovative Signal Analysis builds real-time signal and image processing systems for defence and homeland security customers. Its patented Wide Area View technology underpins wide-area surveillance cameras that automatically track moving objects across a broad field and flag anomalies, reducing the operator burden of watching many feeds at once.
The company was founded in 1997 in Richardson, Texas by Stacy Kniffen and David L. Stevens, two engineers with a combined half-century in signal processing. Its systems have been deployed with the US Navy and in joint seaport security operations with the US Coast Guard on both American coasts and the Gulf of Mexico. It employs roughly 96 people.
Innovative Signal Analysis was acquired by radio-frequency geospatial company HawkEye 360 in late 2025, expanding that company's defence footprint, and now operates as a subsidiary. In 2026 it was among three firms selected by the Space Rapid Capabilities Office to develop GEO radar warning receivers.
