SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation is Japan's largest commercial satellite operator, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, formed through the 2007 merger of JSAT Corporation and SKY Perfect Communications to create an integrated broadcasting and telecommunications satellite services provider. The company operates 16 satellites in geostationary orbit across the JCSAT and Superbird fleets, serving broadcasting, broadband, maritime, aeronautical, and government communications markets across Japan, Asia-Pacific, and global maritime routes.

The JCSAT fleet provides Ku-band and Ka-band capacity for direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting, VSAT enterprise networks, and broadband backhaul across Asia. The Superbird satellites serve Japan's domestic broadcasting market and government/defense communications requirements including secure bandwidth for the Japan Self-Defense Forces. The company operates a teleport and control facility at Tokorozawa, Saitama, providing uplink services and satellite command-and-control for its entire constellation.

SKY Perfect JSAT has invested in high-throughput satellite (HTS) technology through JCSAT-110A and JCSAT-16 Ka-band payloads, competing with SES, Intelsat, and Telesat for Asia-Pacific broadband demand. The company operates the SKY PerfecTV! direct-to-home broadcasting service with approximately four million subscribers in Japan. SKY Perfect JSAT also provides satellite capacity for Japan's national disaster recovery communications and emergency broadcast systems, positioning it as critical national infrastructure under Japan's telecommunications regulatory framework. The company is majority-owned by KDDI Corporation and the Itochu Corporation, Japan's major trading house.
