Kayser Italia, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Livorno, Italy, is a specialist SME in microgravity experiment hardware design, manufacturing, and operation for the International Space Station and other space platforms — one of Europe's most experienced providers of ISS research payload hardware and user support services with over 30 years of continuous operation spanning more than 70 space missions and 100+ scientific payloads delivered.

Kayser Italia's core competency is translating scientific experiment requirements from academic and industrial researchers into flight-qualified hardware: designing containment systems for biological samples, fluid physics experiments, combustion studies, and materials processing that comply with ISS safety standards (pressure containment, flammability, toxicity, electromagnetic compatibility) while preserving the experimental fidelity that makes microgravity research scientifically meaningful.

The company's 5,000 square meter Livorno facility includes cleanrooms for final assembly and integration, an ISS-representative vacuum and thermal test chamber, and electronics integration areas for experiment control systems.

Kayser also operates a User Support Operation Centre (USOC) — one of ESA's designated ground control nodes for ISS research — where Kayser engineers monitor experiment status, command payload operations in real-time, and manage science data downlink for experiment teams who are not co-located at major space centers.
