KBR Space

KBR Space is the space and human spaceflight division of KBR Inc. (NYSE: KBR), a global engineering, technology, and government services company headquartered in Houston, Texas — strategically located adjacent to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake. KBR is one of NASA's largest and most longstanding human spaceflight services contractors, with work spanning ISS mission operations, astronaut training infrastructure, extravehicular activity (EVA/spacewalk) support, and Mission Control Center operations at JSC.

KBR provides the flight controller training systems, mission planning tools, and on-console mission operations support that enable NASA flight directors and controllers to manage crewed missions 24/7. The company's EVA support work covers spacewalk planning, timeline development, tool/hardware design for astronaut extravehicular operations, and real-time support during ISS maintenance EVAs. For the Artemis program, KBR is involved in Gateway — the planned lunar orbital station — providing life support system engineering, human factors analysis, and crew operations planning for the first sustained human presence in cislunar space.

KBR competes with Boeing (which holds the ISS prime contract), Jacobs Engineering, Leidos, and Northrop Grumman for NASA human spaceflight services contracts in the Houston area.
