LandSpace is a Chinese private launch company founded in 2015 and based in Beijing, best known as the developer of the Zhuque-2 rocket — the world's first methane-liquid oxygen (methalox) rocket to successfully reach orbit, achieving that milestone in July 2023. LandSpace was founded by Zhang Changwu and backed by a consortium of Chinese state and private investors. Zhuque-2, also known as TQ-2, uses the TQ-12 methalox engine and targets small-to-medium payloads up to 6,000 kg to LEO. The company is developing Zhuque-3, a fully reusable medium-lift rocket with Falcon 9-style landing legs, targeting first flight in 2025-2026. LandSpace operates from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre and has established itself as one of China's leading commercial launch providers, competing with iSpace, Galactic Energy, and Orienspace.
