About Leanspace

Leanspace is a French space software company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Strasbourg, providing cloud-native, API-first software infrastructure for satellite mission operations — enabling satellite operators to build, integrate, and run mission control systems from modular software microservices rather than the monolithic, custom ground segment systems that have traditionally taken 18-36 months and tens of millions of euros to develop.

Traditional satellite mission ground segments are expensive, bespoke-engineered systems using proprietary data formats that resist interoperability between missions or operators. Leanspace's platform offers a library of composable microservices covering core mission operations functions: mission planning and scheduling, pass prediction and contact management, command and telemetry processing, telemetry archival and time-series databases, and operations workflow automation — each accessible via standard REST APIs and deployable as containers on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

The cloud-native architecture enables satellite operators to scale ground segment compute elastically around contact windows rather than maintaining peak-capacity dedicated hardware 24/7, dramatically reducing infrastructure cost for small satellite operators, new entrant space companies, and national agencies building first-generation satellite programs. By standardizing the software stack across missions, Leanspace also enables multi-mission control center configurations from a single platform installation.

The company targets both commercial New Space operators and emerging space nations building their first operational ground segments. Leanspace competes with CGI Group's EPOCH IPS, GMV's FDS and HIFLY, and the open-source OpenMCT ecosystem within Europe's growing space operations software market.
