Its initial product is a dexterous robotic arm with electrical, mechanical and vision subsystems intended to inspect, grapple and repair satellites on orbit, including uncooperative assets. Lodestar conducted early microgravity testing in partnership with the Aurelia Institute and academics from the MIT Space Exploration Initiative, and targets an in-orbit demonstration as a step toward commercial life-extension and servicing missions.
