The Makeyev Rocket Design Bureau (State Rocket Center "Academician V.P. Makeyev Design Bureau"), founded in 1947 as SKB-385 and based in Miass, Russia, is Russia's principal designer of submarine-launched ballistic missiles. Beyond its military missile work, the bureau adapted decommissioned Soviet SLBM technology into the Shtil' family of small orbital launch vehicles, which conducted two satellite launches in the late 1990s. The bureau now operates as a joint-stock company under the state corporation Roscosmos.
