Marlan Space is an Abu Dhabi-based commercial space company, backed by the Royal Group of Abu Dhabi, positioning itself as the UAE's 'space buildco.' It develops the country's commercial space ecosystem across satellite manufacturing, launch infrastructure, and space-based services including in-space manufacturing and microgravity research. Its first major initiative is Orbitworks, a joint venture with US-based Loft Orbital backed by International Holding Company, announced in 2024 as a roughly $100 million venture operating a 5,000-square-meter facility in Abu Dhabi's KEZAD zone capable of producing up to 50 satellites annually. Marlan Space marks the UAE's entry into sovereign commercial LEO satellite production.
