Marotta Controls

Marotta Controls is a privately held American manufacturer of precision valves, pressure regulators and control systems, founded in 1943 and headquartered in Montville, New Jersey, with an additional Motorfox division in Chaska, Minnesota. The company's propulsion-valve business supplies components most satellite and launch-vehicle builders buy rather than design themselves: solenoid valves, pressure regulators, cold-gas microthrusters and delta-V in-space propulsion hardware that control the flow of propellant through a spacecraft's thruster system.

Marotta states it has supplied spaceflight hardware since the earliest years of the US space program, including fuel-control valves on the Saturn rocket and propulsion-system valves for the Apollo Lunar Module's ascent and descent engines.

Programs the company lists among its customers include the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, NASA's Space Launch System, Boeing's CST-100 Starliner crew capsule, Sierra Space's Dream Chaser spaceplane, Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, Blue Origin's New Glenn and New Shepard vehicles, Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne, and United Launch Alliance's Atlas and Delta rockets, alongside Japan's H-IIA/H-IIB launchers and ESA's GOCE gravity-mapping satellite.

The company remains privately controlled and operates as a non-traditional defense and aerospace supplier, competing in the propulsion-component niche with firms such as VACCO Industries and Moog, both already present in this directory.
