NLR (Netherlands Aerospace Centre)

The Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR), founded in 1919 and based in Amsterdam, is the Netherlands’ leading aerospace research organization. NLR provides expertise across a broad spectrum of the aerospace sector, encompassing aviation, space technology, and unmanned systems. Core areas of expertise include aircraft operation & certification, air traffic management, construction & manufacturing, data science, defence & security, and sustainability. Notably, the organization is developing a unique, modular Energy to Propulsion Test Facility (EPTF) – the first of its kind in the EU – dedicated to testing hydrogen-electric aircraft propulsion systems. Recent collaborations include partnerships with Lockheed Martin focused on e-Pilot capability development and airframe repair/life extension technologies, and a strategic cooperation with TNO to accelerate Dutch military space capabilities.
