About Northrop Grumman SpaceLogistics

Updated 2026-09-05

Northrop Grumman SpaceLogistics is the commercial on-orbit servicing subsidiary of Northrop Grumman, operating the Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV) fleet to extend the operational life of GEO satellites. MEV-1 docked with Intelsat 901 in February 2020 — the first ever docking between two commercial spacecraft in orbit — providing propulsion services to extend the satellite's life by five years. MEV-2 followed in 2021, servicing Intelsat 10-02.

The company's Mission Robotic Vehicle (MRV) is a next-generation servicer designed to perform inspection, relocation, and repair of satellites beyond life extension, with the capability to be reused across multiple client satellites. SpaceLogistics pioneered the commercial satellite servicing market and continues to expand the MEV and MRV fleet for GEO satellite operators.
