OneSpace

OneSpace (零壹空间, Líng Yī Kōngjiān), legally Beijing OneSpace Technology Co., Ltd., is a Chinese commercial launch-vehicle company founded in August 2015 and headquartered in the Daxing district of Beijing. It was among the first wave of private Chinese launch startups to emerge after China opened commercial space launch to private capital, co-founded by Shu Chang (CEO) and Ma Chao, and raised several funding rounds between 2015 and 2018 — including an angel round from Spring Xiaozi Capital, Lenovo Star and Harbin Institute of Technology-linked investors, followed by Series A and Series A+ rounds reported in the hundreds of millions of yuan.

OneSpace developed two rocket families. Its OS-X series was a suborbital solid-fuel flight-test platform intended to provide flight-test services for aerospace research and hypersonic-related payloads; the OS-X0 vehicle conducted China's first private rocket launch on 17 May 2018, reaching roughly 40 km altitude. Its OS-M series was intended as a small orbital launch vehicle serving smallsat customers. The maiden orbital launch attempt, OS-M1, failed on 27 March 2019 after a second-stage malfunction, and subsequent development of the OS-M orbital programme was discontinued.

Following the 2019 failure, OneSpace maintained a markedly lower public profile, with no confirmed successful orbital launch to date and no clearly documented new launch activity in recent years. The company remains a registered private entity and continues to be referenced as a Chinese launch service provider, but its current operational status and scale are not well documented in public sources, in contrast to the more visible OS-X suborbital test-flight business it originally pursued.
