Perigee Aerospace is a South Korean commercial launch company developing the Blue Whale series of small orbital rockets. Founded in 2018 in Seoul, Perigee is building South Korea's first private-sector orbital launch capability alongside government programs like KARI's Nuri rocket. The company's Blue Whale 1 is a two-stage kerosene-LOX rocket targeting 50 kg to sun-synchronous orbit (SSO), with a modular design allowing scaling to larger configurations. Perigee has received investment from KT SAT and other Korean corporate investors and is working toward South Korea's growing cadence of government and commercial satellite launches that currently rely on foreign launch services.
