PERSEI Space is a Spanish startup commercialising electrodynamic tether technology for propellant-free in-space mobility. Founded in September 2023 as a spin-off of the EU-funded E.T.PACK projects, it draws on Universidad Carlos III de Madrid expertise. Its lightweight aluminium-ribbon tethers, hundreds of metres long, interact with Earth's magnetic field and ionospheric plasma to generate Lorentz-force drag and onboard power, deorbiting defunct satellites without fuel and enabling reboost and station-keeping. The company signed a technology-licensing agreement with SENER Aeroespacial and is preparing a debut demonstration mission targeted for 2026.
