Pixxel India, founded in 2019 and based in Bangalore, is a space data company focused on revolutionizing Earth observation through hyperspectral imaging. The company develops and operates its own constellation of hyperspectral imaging satellites, currently deploying its first commercial constellation, “Firefly,” with multiple successful launches via SpaceX. Pixxel’s core business involves capturing high-resolution, high-frequency hyperspectral data of the Earth’s land, oceans, and atmosphere.

Pixxel differentiates itself by offering a complete end-to-end solution, encompassing satellite development and operation, data acquisition, and advanced analytics through its in-house platform, Aurora. Aurora is a no-code platform designed to simplify satellite data analysis and provide users with readily available models and indices. This allows Pixxel to serve a diverse range of sectors including agriculture, energy, government, environment, forestry, and mining, providing data-driven insights for applications such as crop health monitoring, pollution detection, resource management, and disaster response.

Recent activity includes ongoing monitoring of the initial Firefly satellites launched in January 2025, and further deployments in August 2025, expanding the constellation’s capabilities. Pixxel has also established partnerships with companies like UP42, Pacific Geomatics, and KSAT to broaden data access and distribution globally. Through these efforts, Pixxel aims to establish a comprehensive “health monitor for the planet” and provide actionable intelligence for addressing critical global challenges.
