Pumpkin's CubeSat Kit chassis are machined to the CubeSat standard specification (10×10×11.35 cm per unit) with anodized aluminum construction, threaded insert arrays for payload mounting, and standardized interface patterns for structural stacking across unit sizes. The kits include PC/104-compatible bus boards, battery assemblies, solar panel frames, and deployment release mechanisms — providing all mechanical and electrical building blocks for a satellite frame prior to integrating mission-specific payloads.

With over 150 CubeSat Kits shipped since 2003, Pumpkin served the critical early ecosystem role of making CubeSat construction accessible to universities without precision machining capabilities. Early Cal Poly and Stanford CubeSat programs used Pumpkin hardware, and the company's product catalog established de-facto interface standards that the broader CubeSat industry converged on, influencing everything from deployer interface designs to PC/104 electronics form factors.

Pumpkin also developed the Cadet radio — a compact UHF/VHF amateur and commercial band transceiver used on dozens of educational CubeSats for telemetry and command links. As the CubeSat market matured beyond academic missions into commercial constellations, Pumpkin maintained its position serving the educational market while larger bus manufacturers (GomSpace, Endurosat, ISIS) captured the commercial tier.
