QuSecure is a San Mateo, California post-quantum cryptography (PQC) company founded in 2017 developing quantum-resilient security software for satellite communications, ground networks, and critical infrastructure against the emerging threat of cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs).

The company's QuProtect platform is a software-defined security overlay that wraps existing satellite communication links with NIST-standardized post-quantum cryptographic algorithms (CRYSTALS-Kyber for key exchange, CRYSTALS-Dilithium for digital signatures) without requiring hardware changes to the underlying satellite modems or terminals — a critical capability for the existing installed base of government and commercial ground infrastructure that cannot be easily upgraded.

In a landmark 2023 demonstration, QuSecure and Accenture achieved the first live U.S. end-to-end satellite quantum-resilient communication link transmitted via SpaceX Starlink, validating that PQC algorithms could operate at satellite link speeds and latencies in a real-world environment. This demonstration addressed a core concern of NIST and NSA: that PQC algorithms would introduce unacceptable computational overhead or latency for time-critical satellite command and control or real-time ISR data links.

QuSecure primarily targets U.S. government and defense customers through GSA Schedule contracts and DoD OTA agreements, supplying PQC overlays for Space Force ground control segments and intelligence community satellite networks under the NSA CNSA 2.0 compliance mandate requiring PQC migration across national security systems by 2030. The company has raised over $20M from venture investors and strategic partners.

QuSecure competes with ISARA (now part of Visa), PQShield, and IBM's PQC offerings in an accelerating market driven by "harvest now, decrypt later" threats from nation-state adversaries who intercept encrypted satellite traffic today expecting to decrypt it once quantum computers become available.
