Quside

Quside is a Barcelona-based quantum technology company founded as a spin-off from ICFO (Institut de Ciències Fotòniques) that develops quantum random number generators (QRNGs) and quantum security products. QRNGs generate truly random numbers from quantum mechanical processes (photon arrival times or vacuum fluctuations) rather than pseudo-random algorithms — a critical security primitive for cryptographic key generation.

Quside's chip-scale QRNG devices are commercially available and have been tested in space environments, with the company participating in satellite-based quantum key distribution (QKD) programs including ESA's EuroQCI initiative. As post-quantum cryptography standards roll out, QRNG hardware becomes increasingly relevant for seeding encryption systems with genuine randomness. Quside competes with IDQ (ID Quantique), Cambridge Quantum, and other quantum security hardware vendors.
