About RocketStar

Updated 2026-06-30

RocketStar is a New York-based propulsion company founded by Christopher Craddock, developing electric propulsion systems for spacecraft. Its base product is a water-fueled pulsed plasma thruster, which it has enhanced with the FireStar Drive, a fusion-enhanced pulsed plasma electric propulsion unit that uses a form of aneutronic nuclear fusion to boost performance. RocketStar reported that during SBIR Phase 2 testing at Georgia Tech, the fusion enhancement improved baseline thrust by around 50 percent. The company positions its thrusters for small-satellite station-keeping and orbital maneuvering.
