RSCC (Russian Satellite Communications Company) is Russia's primary state-owned GEO satellite operator, headquartered in Moscow and founded in 1967. The company operates the Express fleet of geostationary telecommunications satellites, providing direct-to-home (DTH) television broadcasting, broadband connectivity, government communications, and emergency/disaster response services across Russia and neighboring regions. With Russia's vast geographic expanse making satellite the only cost-effective means of reaching remote regions, RSCC holds a critical national infrastructure role. The Express fleet includes Ku-band, Ka-band, and C-band capacity. RSCC works closely with Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems (ISS Reshetnev) for satellite manufacturing and coordinates with Roscosmos on launches. Post-2022 Western sanctions have complicated procurement of foreign components for next-generation satellites.
