About Scanway
Scanway is a Polish space and industrial machine-vision company based in Wrocław, founded around 2016. It designs and manufactures compact optical camera payloads for Earth observation and remote sensing on micro- and nanosatellites, marketed as the Scanway Optical Payload (SOP) line, alongside simpler Scanway Camera Systems (SCS) built from commercial components for in-orbit inspection and supporting imagery roles.
The company states that around a dozen of its cameras have flown or are flying in orbit across more than fifteen satellite missions, including the STAR VIBE, PIAST, EagleEye and OTTER spacecraft, and that its optical payload flew on Poland's Intuition-1 hyperspectral Earth-observation satellite. Cameras under development include payloads for Intuitive Machines' Chors mission, South Korean company Nara Space Technology's NarSha satellite, and the ESA/Marble Imaging SEMOVIS mission.
Outside the space segment, Scanway also sells machine-vision inspection systems for industrial quality control, which supplements its space-contract revenue. The company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange's NewConnect alternative market in October 2023 under ticker SCW, and in September 2025 applied to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority to move its listing to the main Warsaw Stock Exchange trading floor. Scanway employs more than 80 people and is one of a cluster of Polish companies supplying optical and imaging hardware into the European small-satellite market.
