Space ISAC

The Space Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Space ISAC) is a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit organization founded in 2019 that serves as the official cybersecurity threat intelligence sharing hub for the US space sector — designated as critical infrastructure by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). ISACs (Information Sharing and Analysis Centers) are sector-specific organizations modeled on the established FS-ISAC (financial services) and E-ISAC (electricity grid) frameworks: member organizations share anonymized threat intelligence about cyberattacks, intrusions, and vulnerabilities they encounter, building a collective defense picture that no single company could develop alone. Space ISAC's membership spans commercial satellite operators (GEO and LEO), ground station operators, launch service providers, satellite manufacturers, and government space agencies including NASA and Space Force components. The information shared covers nation-state cyber threats targeting satellite command-and-control systems (kinetic-equivalent satellite jamming/spoofing attacks), GPS spoofing and jamming incidents, RF interference events, and software vulnerabilities in satellite operations software. The designation of space as critical infrastructure reflects the recognition that GPS signal outage would cascade across financial markets, power grid timing, aviation navigation, and emergency services. Space ISAC's Colorado Springs location co-locates it with US Space Command, NORAD, and the major Space Force installations that are natural government partners.
