Founded in 2020 and based in Florida, The Spaceport Company is a developing provider of mobile, sea-based launch infrastructure and services for the aerospace industry. The company focuses on addressing growing demand for launch capacity and the need for more responsive and cost-effective solutions, particularly for both commercial “New Space” companies and the U.S. Department of Defense. Their core offering centers around utilizing liftboat designs – specifically repurposed vessels like the 180-foot “Once In A Lifetime” – to create mobile launch platforms capable of supporting suborbital and, soon, orbital launches.

The Spaceport Company differentiates itself through its proprietary software, established FAA pre-approvals, and a focus on rapid deployment and turnaround times. Beyond the mobile launch platforms, they also offer a containerized telemetry and tracking station leveraging satellite communication networks like Starlink and Inmarsat, providing a fully transportable and robust ground support solution. The company highlights the ability to deliver a launch capability “on contract in eight weeks.”

The Spaceport Company’s team includes experienced professionals in launch systems, maritime operations, and regulatory affairs, including Tom Marotta, a licensing and launch regulatory expert previously with Astra Space, and CEO/Founder Dave Denholm, an offshore launch site subject matter expert with experience at SpaceX and Shell Oil. The company is currently accepting reservations for its suborbital and telemetry services and is preparing to offer orbital launch capabilities in collaboration with established launch service providers.
