The company aims to function as space infrastructure-as-a-service, giving satellite operators affordable, real-time, high-speed connectivity for moving data to and from orbit. By lowering the cost of space communication networks, Stara targets emerging NewSpace operators who need persistent links but cannot afford traditional relay infrastructure. The company began with small demonstration spacecraft as proof of concept for its planned relay network.
