Starlab

Starlab Space is a US-led joint venture established in 2022, focused on developing the next generation of commercial space stations. The company aims to ensure continued human presence in low-Earth orbit (LEO) following the decommissioning of the International Space Station, and to transition microgravity research into a fully commercial era. Starlab’s core offering is a fully functional, single-launch space station designed to host space agencies, researchers, and commercial companies. Key partners in this endeavor include Voyager Space, Airbus, Mitsubishi Corporation, and MDA Space, bringing expertise in spaceflight heritage, manufacturing, robotics, and data management.

Notably, Starlab has secured a Space Act Agreement with NASA valued at over $217 million through the Commercial Destinations Free Flyer program. The station is designed for a single launch via SpaceX’s Starship, eliminating the need for on-orbit assembly. Starlab differentiates itself through its integrated “science park” concept, offering streamlined access to research infrastructure, and a user-focused approach to capability development.

Strategic partnerships with companies like Hilton and Palantir Technologies further demonstrate a commitment to redefining the space experience and leveraging advanced technologies – including AI-driven data management – for both on-orbit and terrestrial applications.
