Starpath Robotics is a Hawthorne, California startup founded in 2022 that designs robotic factories to produce rocket propellant from extraterrestrial resources. Its initial target is water ice at the lunar south pole: a fleet of mining rovers would excavate regolith, a refinery would extract and purify water, and electrolysis would split it into liquid oxygen and hydrogen propellant, alongside space-rated solar power generation. The company won second place at NASA's Break the Ice Lunar Challenge in 2024 and raised a $12 million seed round co-led by 8VC and Fusion Fund.
