Synspective's StriX satellites are small SAR platforms (~100 kg class) operating in X-band with spotlight and stripmap imaging modes achieving meter-class ground resolution. SAR's all-weather, day-night imaging capability is particularly valuable in Japan's typhoon and earthquake-prone context, where optical imagery is frequently blocked by cloud cover during the precise moments when disaster damage assessment is most urgent. StriX-α was launched in December 2020 as the first demonstration satellite, followed by StriX-β in 2021 and subsequent operational satellites on SpaceX Transporter rideshare missions, building toward a planned 30-satellite constellation.

Synspective's analytics platform, built on the StriX data stream, provides coherence change detection for ground deformation monitoring (subsidence, landslide risk), flood inundation mapping, and vessel detection in maritime surveillance applications. These analytics products are sold to civil engineering companies, government disaster management agencies, insurance firms, and infrastructure asset managers under subscription and project-based contracts.

Founded by CEO Motoyuki Arai and backed by investors including SoftBank Group, WiL (World Innovation Lab), and INCJ, Synspective has raised significant venture capital to support constellation deployment in a capital-intensive market. The company competes with Capella Space (US), ICEYE (Finland), and Umbra Space in the commercial SAR market, differentiating through Japan-market relationships and Asia-Pacific focus.
