Tensor Tech

Tensor Tech is a Taiwanese small satellite company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Taipei, developing compact satellite platforms, attitude determination and control systems (ADCS), and space technology components for the growing Asia-Pacific smallsat market. The company emerged from Taiwan's expanding aerospace ecosystem centered around the National Space Organization (NSPO) and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) space engineering programs that produced the FORMOSAT satellite series.

Tensor Tech's core product line includes miniaturized ADCS modules — reaction wheels, star trackers, magnetometers, and integrated ADCS units — for 3U to 16U CubeSats and small microsatellites. These components enable precision pointing required for Earth observation, technology demonstration, and communications payloads on platforms where volume, mass, and power budgets are tightly constrained. The company also develops complete satellite buses in the 6U-16U CubeSat class, targeting government and commercial operators in Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and Japan who want turnkey platforms without the lead times and costs of European or U.S. manufacturers.

Taiwan's geographic position — at geopolitically sensitive latitudes for observing East and Southeast Asia — makes Earth observation satellites developed domestically strategically important to the government. NSPO's FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 mission (GPS radio occultation with NOAA) and FORMOSAT-8 (high-resolution optical EO) have created a pool of satellite engineering talent and supply chain infrastructure that Tensor Tech draws upon. The company participates in Taiwan's efforts to build a domestic commercial space industry through collaboration with NSPO, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), and domestic defense contractors.

Tensor Tech competes in the CubeSat ADCS and bus market with GomSpace (Denmark), AAC Clyde Space (Sweden/UK), NanoAvionics (Lithuania), and Endurosat (Bulgaria) for Asia-Pacific customers, while also serving the domestic Taiwanese government and university research market where local sourcing and language/support proximity create natural advantages.
