True Anomaly

True Anomaly is a Colorado-based defense technology company developing the Jackal spacecraft for space domain awareness and rendezvous proximity operations. Founded in 2022 by former U.S. Space Force and Air Force officers, True Anomaly addresses limitations in existing technologies monitoring near-Earth space.

Jackal is a highly maneuverable, payload-agnostic space superiority platform with modular architecture supporting diverse mission profiles. The spacecraft features high-performance propulsion, hardened software, and optical and radar sensors for capturing high-resolution images and video of resident space objects. The Jackal Autonomous Orbital Vehicle operates across all orbits for close-range data collection.

True Anomaly launched its first two Jackal satellites on SpaceX Transporter-10 in March 2024. While communication problems occurred shortly after deployment, the company incorporated learnings into upgraded hardware and software for subsequent missions. The second Jackal mission served as a testbed validating improvements.

In April 2024, True Anomaly won a $30 million Space Systems Command contract for the VICTUS HAZE Tactically Responsive Space mission, demonstrating rapid deployment of RPO-capable vehicles. The 2025 mission showcases advanced in-orbit rendezvous and proximity operations for national security applications. Mission X is powered by Mosaic, the integrated software platform for space superiority including Command and Control, battle management, safety of flight, and space domain awareness. True Anomaly continues advancing space situational awareness capabilities.
