TrustPoint is a Tucson, Arizona-based navigation technology company founded in 2015, developing miniaturized autonomous navigation solutions for GPS-denied and GPS-contested environments — addressing the growing vulnerability of GPS-dependent systems to jamming, spoofing, and infrastructure denial in military and critical commercial applications. TrustPoint's products combine chip-scale atomic clocks (CSACs), miniature inertial measurement units (IMUs), and software-defined receiver architectures into compact positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems for autonomous vehicles, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), missiles, and defense electronics.

GPS denial is a recognized strategic vulnerability: the US military's reliance on GPS for precision navigation, timing synchronization, and communications has created an adversary incentive to develop GPS jamming and spoofing systems. Russia's broad area GPS jamming in contested airspace (documented extensively in Ukraine, the Arctic, and Baltic operations), China's development of GPS spoofing capabilities, and the availability of commercial jammers have made GPS-independent navigation a priority for DoD.

TrustPoint's chip-scale atomic clock technology provides extremely precise timing references (drift measured in nanoseconds per day compared to milliseconds for crystal oscillators) that maintain positioning accuracy during GPS outages by enabling high-accuracy inertial navigation for extended periods without GPS correction.

For space applications, TrustPoint's precise timing technology supports satellite time synchronization, inter-satellite ranging for formation flying and GPS-independent navigation, and timing stability for satellite communications systems requiring precise frequency references. CSAC-based timing is relevant for nanosatellites and SmallSats where the size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints preclude traditional rubidium or cesium frequency standard hardware.

TrustPoint participates in DoD SBIR/STTR programs and works with defense primes integrating PNT solutions into next-generation unmanned systems, precision-guided munitions, and communications systems. The company competes with Microsemi (CSAC products), Teledyne Defense Electronics, Honeywell Sensing, and DARPA-funded navigation programs in the precision inertial and atomic clock navigation market.
