Vast Space

Vast Space is a U.S.-based company developing next-generation commercial space stations, with a primary focus on establishing a long-term human presence in low-Earth orbit. The company’s flagship project is Haven-1, a planned commercial space station slated for launch in 2026, boasting a pressurized volume of 45m³ and designed for microgravity research and in-space manufacturing. Vast is vertically integrating much of its hardware development and manufacturing, including the construction of the Haven-1 primary structure – the first such component to be built in the U.S. in over 20 years.

A key component of Vast’s development strategy is rigorous in-house testing and validation of critical systems. This is demonstrated through the successful November 2025 deployment of Haven Demo, an in-space testbed for Haven-1 technologies, which captured 4K video of its solar array deployment and achieved power-positive status. Recent progress includes completion of docking adapter fit checks, advancements in food systems development for long-duration missions, and ongoing testing of Haven-1’s structural components, thermal control systems, and attitude control mechanisms. Through these efforts, Vast Space aims to provide a commercially viable platform for continued space exploration and utilization.
