Founded by Jia Yu and Mo Sarwat, the original creators of the open-source Apache Sedona project, the company commercializes that technology as a serverless platform that treats spatial data as a first-class citizen alongside conventional data warehouse workloads. Developers use it to build geospatial analytics and AI applications, run satellite and aerial imagery pipelines, and deploy spatial intelligence at scale. Wherobots raised a seed round in 2023 and launched its cloud product the same year.
